SportsLink_Champions League...Man.Utd on Trail to Defense Title...Barcelona Will Be the Last Threat...

A very magnificient night by Sir Alex Ferguson's squad after demolishing Arsene Wenger's squad in front of 59,867 spectators which are majority from the Gunners' fans at Emirates Stadium last night with 3-1 to qualify to the UEFA Champions League Final in Rome on 27th May 2009...

Cristiano Ronaldo was the main character of the night after scoring twice beside an early goal by Park Ji-Sung... Ji-Sung scored a goal after a very costly mistake by Kieron Gibbs on the 7th minutes... But, the main turning point for United was on the 10th minutes after a very thunderous drive by Ronaldo from his free kick straight into the net behind Manuel Almunia which can be hailed as one of the greatest free kick by Ronaldo himself... The 3rd goal for United came after a very quick counter attack on the 60th minutes after a corner kick by the Gunners being cleared by Nemanja Vidic and Ji-Sung start the move before Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney combined to beat 3 Arsenal defender before Rooney pass to Ronaldo to grab another goal to seal the win for United...

Another talking point of the match was regarding the slump dismissal of Darren Fletcher on 74th minutes after a misjudgeable mistake by Roberto Rossetti of the challange by Fletcher on Francesc Fabregas...

This is the 2nd final for United without key player after 1999 UEFA Champions League Final in Barcelona where Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs were suspended after receiving their cards in semi final against Juventus... Whatever happened, whether Fletcher suspended for the Final, United still have bunch of great players that can fill up the space such as Paul Scholes, the great Ryan Giggs and Nani...

If United manage to win in Rome this May 27, it will be the 4th championship and it will be equal to Bayern Munich and Ajax Amsterdam... The most successful team is still Real Madrid with 9 championships followed by AC Milan with 7 championships and Liverpool with 5 championships...

And for the last threat for United to create history to be the first team that manage to defend the UEFA Champions League championship is Barcelona... Barcelona walk through to the final in Rome thanks to the goal in 90th minutes by Andreas Iniesta to save a draw 1-1 with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and qualify with away goal after a 0-0 draw at Nou Camp last week... Chelsea's goal had been scored by Michael Essien...
